Writing notes on a listing

Open a listing and click My Notes in the bottom-right corner of the page. Write what the ad doesn’t say — the seller’s name, the number you called, anything important from your conversation, your thoughts — and click Save Note. The note stays attached to that listing and is included when you save a copy of it.
Notes are kept on your computer and never leave it.
Writing and changing a note
- Open the listing and click My Notes.
- Type your note, then click Save Note.
- To change it later, open the same listing, edit the note, and click Save Note again.
Erase deletes the note on that listing. Erasing a note does not give back one of your free noted listings.
Keeping the seller’s contact details on craigslist
On craigslist the panel shows three steps. Step 2 is the one worth knowing: open “reply” on the listing and show the email address and phone number, then click Save Note. Your note then keeps the seller’s contact details with it.
Keeping the note with the listing
Click Save or Update Listing in the same panel to save a complete copy of the listing with your note inside it, so the note and the ad always stay together, even after the ad is taken down. If you change a note on a listing you already saved, click Save or Update Listing again to update the note in your saved file. More about saving.
Downloading your notes
With a license, the Download my notes button at the top of the panel saves your notes as a text file: This listing, or All my notes.
How many listings you can note for free
The free allowance includes notes on 10 listings. Reaching that limit ends the free period, and adding notes then needs a license. Notes you have already written stay readable. More about the free allowance.
